Trench Fire

The Trench Fire is one of my favorite fires to use. Next to the Dakota Fire Hole, I would say it's the best fire to use when the wind is strong. It is quick, easy, and safe to make and use.

To make a Trench Fire, obviously as it's name implies, you need to dig a trench. The length and depth of your trench depends on the size of the fire you want to have. After digging a trench you just go about your normal routine for lighting a fire.

Pros-
  • It's so easy to construct.

  • It gives you natural wind protection.

  • Extremely easy to boil water over.

  • By just laying a few green sticks over it, you can improvise a grill.

Cons-

I can't think of any. :)

Have a great weekend.
